Resizing shoes

Hey everyone,

The weather is finally getting better, and I can dust off my heels and sandals! Woo!

Unfortunately, I forgot that these heels from Zara were a bit too big. They were the last pair at the Yorkdale location, and they checked the other stores but the only store that had them in my size was in Montreal!!

So, I took these home. I probably only wore them twice, and it was pretty painful. These were a size 7, and I usually wear a 6/6.5 in heels. I use the Dr. Scholl's heel liners which worked for a bit, but eventually they started to lose their stickiness.

I had to find a solution. At first I remembered watching a DIY video on youtube about making your own liners, but after searching multiple walmarts and craft stores, I wasn't able to find felt with the adhesive backing.

One day I was walking around Shoppers Drug Mart, and I saw these felt pads. Yes, the felt pads you stick under chairs so they don't scratch your flooring.

Step 1:
Measure and cut out a piece with a height of 1 inch. The length doesn't really matter, but I guess it would help make the shoe fit smaller.

Step 2: Place it in your shoe and adjust it to determine how it should fit, where it should bend, and make sure the sides don't come out over the side of the shoe.

Make sure it doesn't look like that! It won't look attractive!!

Step 3: Peal off the adhesive sticky and place it in your shoe!
Press and hold, make sure it's in there.

Step 4: Enjoy your newly fitted shoes!

Since I had leftovers, I did it to other pairs of shoes as well. It's so sad that Zara's 7 and 6.5 is a bit big, and 6 is too snug for me feet.

Hopefully this was somewhat informative. I've been too tired to come up with ideas and actually do them. So many ideas! So little time!!

Until next time,
Aggie

Zara opens online shopping for Canada (#dearcanada)

Hey friends,

My boyfriend had received a Zara gift card over Christmas, and since he knows I love shopping, he gave it to me. The other day, I went online to check if Zara had updated their website for the spring/summer season, and to my surprise (and excitement) they announced that Canada is going to be able to shop online starting March 6th!

I love it when companies decide to open up an online shop. It makes it so much easier for people to buy things, without having to fight other people (although I have never done that, or witness anything of that sort), and to be able to find their size quickly. It is also super accessible, over the weekend my mother (who is sort of a computer noob) was able to buy things on her iPad... and I'm a bit embarrassed to admit that I've bought a few things using my phone.

This is a screen shot I took of the homepage. I'm so excited, this is such great news.
Every time that Zara has a sale, the clothes are all over the place and there's always long lines. Being that I am out of town for school, when I am finally able to check out Zara most of the nice pieces and sizes are gone.

For example, this beautiful shoe for $15.99 Canadian. Too bad it's sold out, I didn't even get a chance to see it in person. All that was left were flats, a few pair of boots, and a few sandals ... but they were all too big for me. I mean, how great would it have been, to get these lovely shoes at my doorstep!

Here are some of the things I'm eyeing, and will be waiting for:

I could wear this shirt/blouse with jeans or dark pants in the winter/spring, and spice it up by tucking it in my faux-leather shorts, or a cute skirt.

These velvet pants are cute! I'm not too sure how they will look on me, I usually try not to wear prints or things that are too bright.

But my boyfriend told me to stop wearing all black, so maybe this pink blazer (oh my goodness, it is so bright) and this white jacket might brighten up my wardrobe.

All in all, I'm pretty excited about Zara opening up their online shop. Hopefully their return policy, and shipping rates are good. I've known that their US shop has been open for awhile, so I'm really glad it's finally here ... just one more week! Oh, one more thing, they seem to update their website pretty frequently as they have "new this week", hopefully I will be able to control myself.

Much love,

It's been a long time ...

Hello world,

It's been a long time since I haven't updated, and I feel horrible. I was in school during the summer and I'm in school now, and it takes a lot of time to think of posts / upload the pictures onto the blog (I wish there was an easier way to add pictures. I love taking pictures)

Well, here's a few things that happened in October.

I started going to the gym ...

But then my friend and I started to eat out and eat desserts ...
(our guilty pleasures)

Dr. Who ended (for now) and I'm terribly upset. Then there was a poster at school which made me more upset.

I got a few glossy box(es) in the mail:
The NYX "book of shadows" is quite nice.

I purchased some nice studded boots from Nine West.

Got some free samples from counters; Chanel lipstick, perfumes. It's always nice when the ladies at the counter give samples :)

I went to Zellers to buy some snacks, and found out that they were having a major shoe sale... and they got their shipments from The Bay! (I believe they were an extra 70% off)

Sam Edelman

See by Chloe

BCBG

Some more guilty pleasures..

(I mean, who can say no to this delicious thing)

Unbuttoning a new Longchamp. It looks so peaceful and nice, until I used it for the first time.

Some awesome finds at Winners (TJMax)
Gucci heels, and Fendi pumps

(they look amazing on, but I can't seem to find the picture right now. Will add it later)

There was a Lancome warehouse sale where my mom and I went a bit crazy.

Most of the Essies and all of the Lancome nail polishes were bought from the sale!

My new Tim Hortons favourite: Everything bagel with cream cheese !!!

My attempt at being healthy, frozen grapes !
I think it tasted best with the dark purple and the red ones, the greens were alright though.
They taste so good, and the texture is so creamy! I have been snacking on these instead of chips lately :)

Now I have to get back to my assignments :(
Hopefully, my next update will be within this week.

Bye for now,
Aggie

Shoes -- Hunter boots !

I am super excited! I got these in the mail recently, and I cant wait to wear them.
Finally, I can go to school without getting my feet wet!

I have been debating for awhile if I should get Tretorns or Hunters or Burberry rainboots, or Tokidoki if they are ever available again. But when I got that email from Neimanmarcus about their sale, I looked at shoes (I love shoes) and saw these babies.

Now, I dont know too much about Hunters, and I dont know much about the colour availability or design or anything, but when I saw these I am pretty sure they dont sell this in Canada (or at least not that I've seen.)

These boots are pretty tall, a bit hard to wear with sweat pants, but why would you even need to wear rainboots with sweat pants? With leggings and bare leg it's good though.

I got these boots at neimanmarcus if I havent said so already, there were four colours, white, pink, and purple that were at this price range (Bergdorf  Goodman is also selling these) and if you are iffy about having it shipped from the states, browns shoes is also having a sale on Hunters. They have it in the colour, black, green, yellow and blue (I believe) and at the price of $99 + shipping.

All in all, I like these boots, I feel special and my feet dont get wet when it rains!

Price: $83 + tax + shipping
Colour: Duck egg
Store: Neimanmarcus.com
